The indictment would trigger Governor Kathy Hochul (HOKE’-ul) to issue a warrant to extradite Luigi Mangione to Manhattan from Pennsylvania. The December 4th Legal Committee has raised over 100 thousand dollars for Mangione’s defense. Investigators said writings police seized suggest he fixated on UnitedHealthcare and developed a plan to kill Thompson.

(Brainerd, MN) — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle near Brainerd over the weekend. According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. An SUV traveling westbound on Gull Lake Dam Road slowed down because of a pickup parked in the westbound lane. The pickup driver was talking to a pedestrian walking along the road. As a result, the SUV driver lost control on the icy road and hit the pedestrian. The 34-year-old woman from Brainerd was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she later died. A blood sample was collected from the SUV driver, a 57-year-old man from Nisswa, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Formal charges are pending the results of the blood test.

(Shakopee, MN) — A hearing on the Minnesota House Republicans’ election contest of a DFL representative’s victory in the Shakopee area race is scheduled for today. The session gets underway two weeks after the House GOP and Republican Aaron Paul filed a lawsuit contesting DFL Representative Brad Tabke’s election results. The suit alleges Scott County election officials engaged in deliberate, serious, and material violations of state election law when they lost 21 ballots in the 54A race. Tabke won the election by 14 votes. State House Republicans are asking the judge to declare a vacancy for Tabke’s seat once his term ends.

(Rochester, MN) — A homeless Rochester man is charged with criminal sexual conduct after sexually assaulting a woman. Rochester police responded to a report of sexual assault on November 13th. The victim told officers she was assaulted the morning of November 11th in a wooded area of Rochester. 41-year-old Keith Butler was taken into custody this Friday. The victim picked Butler out of a photo lineup, and investigators confirmed Butler was in the area of the assault on the morning of the incident. Butler’s first court appearance has yet to be scheduled.
