>>Judge Declares Tabke Winner in House Race 54A

(Shakopee) – A District Court Judge has ruled Democrat Brad Tabke is the winner of House Race 54A covering the Shakopee area. The judge ruled there was insufficient evidence suggesting the other candidate, Republican Aaron Paul, should be granted a special election. Tabke won the election with 14 votes, but it was later discovered that 20 were missing. Testimony from 12 of those voters showed both sides received an additional six votes, making it mathematically impossible for Paul to overturn the result. Tabke was sworn in over the weekend for his seat in the House. Paul can appeal to the state Supreme Court.
