O’Hara said protesters did throw fireworks, rocks, and ice at officers near last night’s ICE shooting of a suspect in north Minneapolis.

Andrea Vaubel is Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture (MDA) and says immigrant workers are afraid to show up on farms, and that will impact your dinner table. President of the Minnesota Farmers Union, Gary Wertish, says Washington needs to get its priorities straight, as we still do not have a farm bill, but “ICE saw its budget more than triple.” DFL Senator Aric Putnam of St. Cloud says Minnesota has 3,500 H-2A farm workers. These are foreign nationals brought to the U.S. legally for temporary, seasonal agricultural work when there’s a shortage in our country.

But for many children in Minnesota today, that feeling of safety and ease is missing.” The organization says the murders of House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, the fatal Annunciation School mass shooting, and the recent killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent have had a lasting impact on Minnesota’s kids.

Rachel Thompson, Executive Director of Visit Greater St. Cloud, says each visitor spent an average of $139 during their trip. Nearly 70% of visitors stayed at least one night, contributing to the local economy through lodging, dining, and entertainment. Thompson says their marketing strategy targets travelers within a 3-to-6-hour driving radius, including places like Ames and Des Moines, Iowa. Thompson says residents of Minneapolis and St.Paul are also primary markets, just tougher to break into, so they see people coming from Sioux Falls, Rochester, and more. He notes they’ll be testing that market more in 2026 to see what travellers are looking for.

(Duluth, MN) – Police in Duluth say a man is accused of burglarizing the Bentleyville Tour of Lights. Officers say the 47-year-old man broke into the gift shop on December 26th and stole items worth more than $2,000. The report says the damage to the shop was extensive. The suspect was arrested on Friday and jailed pending third-degree burglary charges. A police statement says, “The act of burglarizing a free event that brings thousands of people to our city is disappointing.”
