(St. Paul, MN) — Attorney General Keith Ellison settled with insulin manufacturers Eli Lilly, Sanofi, and Novo Nordisk, guaranteeing that Minnesotans can purchase a month’s supply of Eli Lilly and Sanofi insulin products for just $35 for the next 5 years. Eli Lilly will also donate free insulin to 15 clinics serving low-income Minnesotans for the next five years, and Sanofi and Novo Nordisk will provide free insulin to Minnesotans with an annual household income of less than or equal to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level—$124,800 for a family of four. The settlement does not require you to have health insurance to obtain the $35 insulin.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Health urges healthcare providers to test human patients for avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu. An advisory issued recommends providers order additional laboratory tests for hospitalized patients who have tested positive for Type A influenza. H5N1, a subtype of influenza A, has prompted the CDC to suggest further testing to determine whether patients may have been infected with bird flu. The Department of Health emphasizes that the risk of bird flu affecting the general public remains low.

(Halstad Township, MN) — The State Patrol is identifying a man killed in a weekend crash in northwest Minnesota’s Norman County near the North Dakota border. Troopers say a northbound car driven by 68-year-old Raymundo Zenteno of Climax collided with a southbound semi on Highway 75 Saturday morning. Zenteno died of his injuries in a Fargo hospital. The semi-driver from Mexico wasn’t hurt. The report says there was snow and ice on the roadway then.

(Mankato, MN) — Minnesota music legend Bob Dylan performs in his home state this spring. Eighty-three-year-old Dylan is scheduled to play at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato on April 4th. The stop is part of his “Rough and Rowdy Ways” worldwide tour that’s been going on since 2021. Tickets for the Mankato show go on sale this Saturday. Dylan played the Somerset Amphitheatre in western Wisconsin last September with Willie Nelson.
