(Minneapolis, MN) — White House Border Czar Tom Homan plans to reduce the number of federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Homan says state officials agreed that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks. He said at a news conference, “this is common sense cooperation that will allow us to draw down on the number of people we have here.” Homan says staff from ICE and C-B-P working on a drawdown plan based on local cooperation. Homan says he’s had meaningful dialogue with Governor Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and others.

(Stannard Township, MI) — Authorities are releasing the name of a Duluth college student who was killed last week in a crash in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Andrew Bjork of Hudson, Wisconsin was killed in the collision on January 19th. Two of his classmates at the College of St. Scholastica were injured. An online fundraiser has been started to help the survivors with medical expenses.

Chair Sheena Ziegler says this is the world’s largest charitable fishing tournament. She says people come from as far as Turkey. The fishing contest requires a ticket, but anyone can attend the festivities on Gull Lake. A total of 150 prizes will be awarded. The angler who catches the biggest fish wins a brand-new pickup truck.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild will try to extend their point streak to four games when they play the Calgary Flames tonight (Thurs 7pm) at Grand Casino Arena. The Wild are coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks at home on Tuesday. Kirill Kaprizov scored the game-winning shoot-out goal. Minnesota is in second place in the Central Division with 70 points.
