(Brooklyn Park, MN) – Brooklyn Park police are searching for a missing 67-year-old woman. Tara Jemison was last seen around 3 p.m. on Monday, leaving a residential area on foot. She’s described as Black, five feet five inches tall, 174 pounds, with black-gray hair and brown eyes. Jemison was last seen wearing black clothing.

(Minneapolis, MN) – The first Somali American woman elected to the Minnesota Senate is running for a second term. Senator Zaynab Mohamed of Minneapolis says she’s launching her re-election campaign in the eye of a seemingly never-ending storm. Mohamed says she will keep fighting for access to quality healthcare and affordable housing – and “make it harder for dangerous people to get dangerous weapons.” Her campaign says Mohamed received more votes than any state senator in 2022.

 

>>Final Mediation Session for Anoka Hennepin Schools and Teachers

(Anoka, MN) – The Anoka-Hennepin School District and its teachers’ union are holding their final mediation session today before a scheduled strike on Thursday. Negotiators with Anoka Hennepin Education Minnesota (AHEM) and school officials met for eight hours on Friday but could not agree on a new contract. More than 98% of AHEM members voted to authorize a strike. Parents have been notified that schools will be closed on Thursday if there’s no agreement.

 

>>Rep. Craig Adds to Fundraising Total for Senate Campaign

(Washington, D.C.) – Representative Angie Craig raised $2.1 million in campaign donations in the fourth quarter, pushing her total to $6.5 million for the 2025 year. Craig is running for the Senate seat held by the retiring Tina Smith, both Democrats. Craig’s campaign says they received donations from 10,000 new donors, with 94% of those donations being $100 or less. Craig’s campaign bank has nearly $4 million in cash for her Senate run in 2026. She faces Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan for the Democratic nomination.

(Washington, DC) – President Donald Trump looks to be targeting California next over possible fraud. In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump called California “more corrupt than Minnesota.” He went on to say, “The fraud investigation of California has begun,” but didn’t provide any other details. Governor Tim Walz announced Monday that he will not pursue a third term and emphasized his ongoing commitment to ensuring accountability for fraud in Minnesota.

 

>>Officer Fatalities Drop to 80-Year Low in 2025

(Washington, D.C.) – Line-of-duty deaths among law enforcement officers fell 25% in 2025, reaching an 80-year low, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF). Preliminary data show 111 officers died last year, down from 148 in 2024, the lowest figure since 1943. “This encouraging trend reflects the adoption of proven safety practices and a growing focus on officer wellness,” said NLEOMF CEO Bill Alexander.

 

>>Wolves and Heat Rematch at Target Center

(Minneapolis, MN) – The Minnesota Timberwolves are back home tonight at 7 p.m. for a rematch with the Miami Heat. The Wolves beat Miami 125-115 on Saturday in Florida. Minnesota went to Washington on Sunday and routed the Wizards 141-115. The Timberwolves are 23-13 while the Heat have a 20-16 record.
