(Hastings, MN) — A Minneapolis man is now charged with second-degree murder in connection with a deadly stabbing in Apple Valley on July 6th. Dakota County prosecutors say 20-year-old Aron Medina Rojas is accused of killing 21-year-old Daniel Aguilar early Saturday morning. Aguilar was found lying on a sidewalk with multiple stab wounds and died at the scene. Surveillance video shows Medina Rojas approaching and stabbing him. He’s not in custody, and Apple Valley Police are asking anyone with information to call them or 9-1-1.

(Cedar Mills Township, MN) — A high-speed motorcycle chase ended in a ditch Wednesday night in Meeker County. Just before 7:30 p.m., a deputy spotted a speeding motorcycle in Cedar Mills Township northwest of Hutchinson. The driver, 35-year-old Cody Jackson of Darwin, took off, leading deputies on a 14-mile pursuit that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour. The chase ended when Jackson lost control and went into the ditch. He tried to run but was arrested a short distance from the scene. Jackson was booked into the Meeker County Jail on multiple charges, including fleeing and reckless driving. He remains in custody, awaiting his first court appearance.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Science Museum of Minnesota is eliminating 43 full-time positions and reducing its operating budget by seven million dollars. Officials say the restructuring reflects the museum’s proactive response to evolving industry conditions and its commitment to serving Minnesota for generations to come. President Alison Brown said, “We chose to act decisively now rather than wait and be forced into more drastic measures later.” She says the museum has faced operational challenges, including reduced federal grant money, decreased state and local funding, and declining sales of traveling exhibits.

(St. Cloud, MN) — St. Cloud State University is in pursuit of a new President. Interim President Larry Dietz announced on Wednesday that he will be leaving the position by December 31 to attend to family health challenges. Minnesota State Chancellor Scott Olson has announced that a national search will begin immediately for the next president of SCSU, with the goal of having a new leader in place by January 2026.

(Maple Grove, MN) — A former Gophers hockey standout is avoiding prison after a fourth DWI arrest. Troy Riddle has reached a plea deal, agreeing to a first-degree drunken driving charge stemming from a December arrest in Maple Grove. Instead of serving a three-year sentence, Riddle will take part in DUI court — a program designed to help repeat offenders work toward sobriety. Sentencing is set for July 18th. Riddle was a key player on the University of Minnesota teams that won back-to-back national championships in 2002 and 2003.

Eighty-three-year-old McCartney is bringing his ‘Got Back’ North American tour to U-S Bank Stadium on Friday, October 17th. He’s in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 14th. McCartney played a sold-out show at Target Field in 2014 and next door at Target Center in 2016. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, July 18th, and a presale begins next Tuesday. Live Nation has not released ticket prices for the U-S Bank Stadium concert.
