(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota farmers looking to add safety equipment to their on-farm grain storage facilities can apply for Grain Storage Facility Safety Grants through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. MDA spokeswoman Allison Beauregard says the program reimburses up to 75% of the cost to purchase and install eligible safety equipment for on-farm grain bins and silos. Eligible safety equipment could include fall protection systems, spiral staircases, handrails, and level gauges. >>Pioneer Bank To Launch Community Disaster Loan Program

(Mankato, MN) — Mankato’s Pioneer Bank is launching a program to aid in flood recovery. The Community Disaster Loan Program is designed to assist homeowners and small business owners in the area. Homeowners can borrow up to $5,000 to repair flood damage, while businesses can borrow up to $20,000. The low-interest rate loans can be repaid over five years. The main focus for the loans is Blue Earth, Watonwan, and Nicollet counties, but counties bordering that area are also eligible to apply for the loans.

>>”Gap” Project On I-94 To Begin July 22nd

(Albertville, MN) — Construction is set to begin on a three-year project to widen Interstate 94 between Albertville and Monticello. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says preparation work for the $71 million project will begin on July 22nd. Lanes will be periodically closed as crews build median crossovers and conduct other prep work. When completed, the interstate will be six lanes wide. MnDOT expects the project to be complete by the fall of 2026.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Prince fans in Minnesota wonder when tickets will be available for the Broadway stage adaption of ‘Purple Rain’ at the State Theatre. Hennepin Arts marketing director Dale Stark says the world premiere is next April, and the
only way to guarantee a ticket to Purple Rain, and this is the only way, is purchasing a season ticket package. But single tickets will likely go on sale sometime in the fall.”)
Stark says there will be open casting calls for roles in Purple Rain later this month. Information about auditions will be posted online at purplerainbroadway.com.

>>Wolves Guard Edwards Leads US past Canada in Exhibition Game

(Las Vegas, NV) — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards led Team U-S-A to an 86-72 win over Canada in an exhibition game Wednesday night in Las Vegas. Edwards came off the bench and scored 13 points in 19 minutes. Wolves teammate Nickeil Alexander-Walker had five points for Team Canada. The U-S men face Australia in their next exhibition game on Monday in the United Arab Emirates. The Americans will play Serbia in the first game of the Paris Olympics on July 28th.
