(Morse Township, MN) — A 19-year-old was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his 4-wheeler early this morning in Morse Township. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the male driver failed to navigate a left turn and entered the ditch, struck a tree, and was thrown from the ATV. He was taken to a Duluth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

(Washington, DC) — Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is boycotting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address this afternoon (Wed 1pm start) in Washington, D-C. The Minnesota Democrat said in a statement, “It is utterly immoral and cruel to the millions of lives impacted by his catastrophic actions to platform him, let alone give him the honor of addressing Congress. ” Omar says her ticket to Netanyahu’s address went to the family member of an Israeli hostage. She blames Netanyahu and his government for the murder of 38 thousand Palestinians.

>>St. Louis County Board Approves 5-Month Moratorium on Cannabis Businesses

(Duluth, MN) — New cannabis businesses must wait five months to register or open in northeastern Minnesota’s St. Louis County. The Board approved a temporary moratorium through the end of December at Tuesday’s meeting. Officials say it will give local governments additional time to determine how to regulate the state’s new cannabis industry. The moratorium applies to all cities and townships including Duluth. Adult-use cannabis retail sales are expected to begin sometime next year.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota DFL Party is reporting a flood of campaign cash following the entry of Kamala Harris into the presidential race. The party says digital fundraising 48 hours after Harris launched her campaign exceeded 200 thousand dollars. The chair of the DFL says Harris has energized grassroots members who plan to donate their time and resources to keeping Minnesota blue in November.

>>HealthPartners To Leave United Healthcare’s Medicaid Advantage Network

(Bloomington, MN) — A Minnesota nonprofit medical group will be leaving United Healthcare’s Medicaid Advantage network at the end of this year. Bloomington-based HealthPartners announced that decision yesterday. The organization says United Healthcare denies patient claims much more often than other insurers, delaying treatment for patients. HealthPartners says it will be providing resources and information for patients affected by the change.
