(Moorhead, MN) — There is a large police presence in Moorhead. KFGO News director Paul Jurgens is at the scene and says officers with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Moorhead Police, the State Patrol, and Red River Regional SWAT are surrounding a house. SWAT members entered the home through a garage door and are giving commands for someone to come out. There is also a drone that has been hovering over the house, and officers are as far away from the scene as the new Moorhead water tower.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has extended its air quality alert for northern Minnesota through 6 p.m. Monday due to wildfire smoke. Affected areas include Duluth, Bemidji, Brainerd, Moorhead, and several Tribal Nations. Air quality is expected to reach an unhealthy level. The alert has been lifted for southern Minnesota as conditions improve. Residents in affected areas are advised to limit their outdoor activities and stay indoors whenever possible.

The oversight effectively created a taxpayer-funded subsidy, enabling the companies to benefit from prison labor at below-cost prices.

(Cloquet, MN) — Police are looking for two suspects in a weekend armed robbery at a gas station in Cloquet. Both suspects are described as light-skinned males, approximately six feet tall, and were wearing face masks and black hoodies. No injuries are reported. (Ottertail, MN) — Just after 10 p.m. Friday, Otter Tail County Dispatch received a report of a large fire. Crews arrived to find an abandoned outbuilding fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Otter Tail and New York Mills departments responded and extinguished the blaze. Officials say the property owner had been burning a brush pile nearby when the fire spread to the building. No injuries were reported, but the structure has been declared a total loss.

>>Abbott Northwestern Goes Solar

(Minneapolis) – Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis is going solar. Tomorrow, Cooperative Energy Futures and Allina Health will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new solar garden on top of Abbott Northwestern’s Purple Parking Ramp. The solar garden will serve more than 180 local households, with 55 percent of the power allocated to low and moderate-income subscribers. Organizers say that, in addition to saving money on electricity, the rooftop setup will also provide shade for cars and will reduce the need for snow removal in the winter.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota State Fair is hiring for the 2025 Great Minnesota Get-Together, running August 21st through September 1st. They now have one year to claim their prize at the lottery office in Roseville. Gopher 5 is a Minnesota-only lottery game. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
