(Inver Grove Heights, MN) — Inver Grove Heights police are searching for a missing man. 25-year-old Tyler VanMeeteren was last seen leaving an Inver Grove Heights home around 9 a.m. on Monday. He’s described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. VanMeeteren was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and dark pants. His possible destination and whereabouts are unknown.

 

>>2 Dead, Freeborn County Deputies on Leave After Albert Lea Incident

(Albert Lea, MN) — Two people are dead, and multiple Freeborn County deputies are on critical incident leave after a domestic disturbance and pursuit on Tuesday night. Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance report at an Albert Lea home around 7:15. On arrival, a suspect fled and began a pursuit. Mower County deputies flagged and followed him home. Deputies say the suspect got out of the car and started shooting. Authorities shot the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman’s body was found near the home, but officials believe she was dead before deputies arrived. The Minnesota BCA (Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) is investigating.

(St. Paul, MN) – A special honor on the U.S. House floor Tuesday for the 2025 Professional Women’s Hockey League champion, the Minnesota Frost. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar recognized the team for winning their second straight Walter Cup Trophy and “continuing to put Minnesota women’s sports on the map.” Omar said thanks to their third consecutive overtime victory, the Walter Cup will stay at home in Minnesota for another year. The Frost won the inaugural PWHL title last season.

 

>>National Guard’s 204th Medical Company Area Support Returns Home

(Cottage Grove, MN) — Around 40 members of the National Guard’s 204th Medical Company Area Support are returning home today from a ten-month deployment to the Middle East. The Minnesota soldiers conducted initial first aid and lifesaving procedures for personnel after an injury or illness, stabilizing them for evacuation or return to duty. Brigade Commander, Colonel Joel Stamp said, “The accomplishments of this formation are many and have established a higher standard for medical care for our service members and our allies while deployed.”

(Undated) – It’s been proven that social media negatively affects youths’ views on their body and mental health outcomes, but how do we prevent this? University of Minnesota Extension Specialist Avelina Rivero recommends that adolescents beef up their media literacy. She explains, “If they see an image and they look perfect or have a thigh gap, and can understand it’s fake, then they can go against that.” Rivero says parents need to practice good screen-use limits and social media habits as well, to set an example for their kids to follow when engaging online.

 

>>Suspicious Activity at Orr’s Dam Supper Club

(Orr, MN) — The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to stay vigilant as they investigate suspicious activity at the Dam Supper Club. Around 10:14 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to a business just outside of Orr on a report of suspicious activity. A juvenile employee reported being approached and grabbed by another man as he was walking into the parking lot. The boy fled and called 911. Authorities contacted several vehicles in the area during a search, but found no suspects. No credible leads or suspects have been found, or arrests made. The investigation remains active.
