(Undated) — A flood watch is in effect for much of Minnesota today through tomorrow. Over the last several weeks, we’ve seen a pretty active wet pattern with more rain in the forecast. Brent Hewett, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, says the
watch basically highlights that our soils are now saturated. Many lakes, streams, tributaries, and reservoirs have filled up and are now at or above normal levels. Hewett says they are closely monitoring the Crow and Minnesota rivers, but a lot of the smaller streams and tributaries for those will likely see rises first before making it to the main stem rivers.
>>Organ Trail Bike Ride To Stop At Mayo Clinic Today
(Rochester, MN) — The “Organ Trail,” a bike ride to raise awareness for organ donations, is stopping in Rochester today. The 1200-mile, three-week ride promotes the donation of organs such as livers and kidneys. Mark Scotch and his wife, Lynn, who donated organs, participate in the ride to demonstrate that being a donor doesn’t prevent you from being active and healthy. They will stop at the Mayo Clinic today before continuing their journey across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Bumble Bee Atlas, a project by the University of Minnesota and the Xerces(ZER-cees) Society, seeks additional volunteers to help research bumble bees. So far, volunteers have identified around two dozen bumble bee species in the state, but there are still 87 grids that need to be surveyed. (Minneapolis, MN) — Due to the wet conditions, The 2024 Minnesota State Baseball Tournament championship games are being moved from today (Mon) to Friday at Target Field. The Minnesota State High School League decided to postpone games this morning. Parkers Prairie is scheduled to play Springfield for the class A championship, Rockford and Foley will meet in the class Two-A title game, Mahtomedi takes on Totino Grace in the Three-A final, and it’s East Ridge vs. Mounds View for the class Four-A crown. Tickets for today’s scheduled games at Target Field can be used on Friday.

(Burbank, CA) — The Disney-Pixar film “Inside Out 2” raked in 155 million dollars over Father’s Day weekend, making it the second-biggest animated opening of all time in the U.S. The sequel to “Inside Out” is directed by Burnsville native Kelsey Mann and was created by Pete Docter from Bloomington. The main character, Riley, is a hockey player from Minnesota, and she becomes a teenager with lots of new emotions in this movie. Docter has won three Oscars for “Inside Out,” “Up,” and “Soul” and is Pixar’s chief creative officer.
