(Emily, MN) — The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is reporting another drowning incident on Little Emily Lake. Deputies say the 29-year-old man was swimming with family and friends Saturday when it happened. Paramedics responded to the scene right away but were unable to save him. The victim has not been identified. Nineteen-year-old U of M Morris student Cameron Walker drowned on Little Emily Lake on May 12th after the paddle boat he was on capsized.

(Rochester, MN) — Two people are dead after a motorcycle and a truck collided Saturday afternoon near Rochester. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at an intersection in Rochester Township. Deputies say paramedics treated a 63-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman on the motorcycle, but they did not survive. The man driving the truck wasn’t hurt. The crash is still under investigation.

(Harlingen, TX) — An ICE agent accused of shooting a Venezuelan immigrant earlier this year in Minneapolis is being held without bond in Texas. Christian Castro was taken into custody in Harlingen over the weekend and made his first court appearance on Saturday. He faces four counts of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and one count of falsely reporting a crime. Castro reportedly shot Julio Sosa-Celis in January during Operation Metro Surge. He will remain in Texas until an extradition hearing is scheduled.

He says global events, including conflict in the Middle East, are driving up fuel and fertilizer costs, adding pressure to already thin margins. Peiffer says he doesn’t expect significant improvement in the farm economy in the near future.

The foundation awarded the 2026 Profile in Courage Award to the people of the Twin Cities for their response during federal ICE Operation Metro Surge. The award honors residents who protested, documented enforcement activity, and supported immigrant families during the operation. Four Minnesota community leaders accepted the award Sunday in Boston. The foundation says the honor recognizes a broad coalition that united across religious, racial, and political lines to support their community.

Eligible producers can begin submitting pre-filled applications today using a Login.gov account, while in-person enrollment through local Farm Service Agency offices begins June 8th. The N-F-L Network and E-S-P-N reported the Purple hired Teasley over the weekend. Teasley spent 13 seasons in Seattle and had served as assistant G-M since 2023. He replaces Vikings interim G-M Rob Brezezinski, who took over after general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was let go in January. The Minnesota Vikings have yet to confirm the hiring of Teasley.
