(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association, or LEMA is taking the lead in planning a public service for fallen Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell. No details have been released yet. Willmar Police Chief and LEMA Board Member Jim Felt says his group has been busy in recent years. “The violence against police all around the nation and officers involved in shootings and things has really jumped in the last four years. And it’s disturbing to see. It’s something hopefully that the tide can be turned on that to lower it and protect those officers and citizens.” Minnesota’s congressional delegation honored Officer Mitchell on the U-S House floor Monday.

(Wabasso, MN) — At least one person is dead following a semi vs. pickup crash in Redwood County on Monday. State Patrol troopers say the crash was reported around 12:35 p.m. on Highway 68 in Wabasso when an eastbound semi collided with a northbound pickup. The semi was driven by a 63-year-old man from Redwood Falls, and the pickup was driven by a 25-year-old woman from Wheaton with three children as passengers, all female, ranging from ages one to four years old. More details on the crash will be released later today (TUES).

(St. Paul, MN) — Online retailer The Wireless Shop LLC, doing business as Upright Cane and its owner Caelan Nwokeuku (collectively, “Upright Cane”), has agreed with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s Office to a 10-year ban on selling goods and services in Minnesota as well as pay $50,000 in restitution after scamming seniors and disabled people. Investigation shows Upright Cane failed to deliver a single walker or scooter to any senior Minnesotan who ordered one and challenged consumers’ attempts to perform credit card chargebacks by providing credit card companies false evidence of never-made shipments. Ellison’s Office asks anyone who has had or is having a problem with an online retailer failing to deliver products to file a complaint with his office via an online form.

(New York, NY) — Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis is expected to return to the lineup for the three-game series that starts tonight (Tues) at Yankee Stadium. The team reinstated Lewis today from his rehab assignment and the 10-day injured list. Lewis was injured in the first game of the season in Kansas City while running the bases. He hit a franchise-record four grand slams for the Twins in 2023. Lewis takes the roster spot of Eddy Julien, who was optioned to Triple-A Saint Paul.
