>>Rosemount- Apple Valley-Eagan Schools Closed Due to Threats

(Eagan, MN) — Classes are cancelled today (Tues) in Independent School District 196 due to threats directed at schools in Rosemount, Apple Valley, and Eagan. Police in Eagan say they are actively working with neighboring agencies and the district to determine the origin and nature of the threats. Multiple schools received threatening voicemails this morning. Investigators say they are unable to confirm the threats as credible, nor have they been able to rule them out entirely. The district decided to close out of an abundance of caution.

>>Two Appleton Residents Facing Multiple Charges After Shooting at Police

(Appleton, MN) — Two Appleton residents, 32-year-old Brandon Corbett and 35-year-old Sunjin Corbett, face multiple felony charges after a Friday shootout and police standoff. They are charged with attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless discharge of a firearm. Police say the couple fired at officers after shooting into a home, then barricaded themselves in an SUV until SWAT used tear gas. A search of their home found ammunition and bullet holes. Bail is set at one million dollars each. Sunjin returns to court on March 23rd; Brandon on April 29th. Both are being held at the Douglas County Jail in Alexandria.

>>Minnesota Senate Committee to Discuss Cannabis and Hemp Bills

(St. Paul, MN) — Several cannabis and hemp measures will be discussed in today’s (Tuesday, 12:30 start) Minnesota Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection committee meeting. One bill would amend cannabis business and hemp business licensing and labeling requirements for low-dose hemp products. Another file calls for the Office of Cannabis Management to conduct a study on the expected size and growth of the regulated cannabis and hemp industries.

>>Klobuchar Introduces Bill to Strengthen Antitrust Settlements

(Washington, D.C.) — Senator Amy Klobuchar has introduced the Antitrust Accountability and Transparency Act to strengthen oversight of antitrust settlements and ensure they benefit consumers, workers, and small businesses. The legislation follows a recent settlement between the U.S. Department of Justice and Live Nation, which Klobuchar criticized as inadequate. “When the government prosecutes antitrust violations, the goal should be to uphold the law, lower prices, and protect consumers and small businesses,” Klobuchar said, adding the bill would give courts stronger authority to independently review settlements.

>>Walleye Limit Set on Red Lake

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Red Lake Nation set a five-fish daily limit, with only one walleye over 17 inches. Fisheries supervisor Andy Thompson says the goal is to maintain a healthy balance of spawning fish by encouraging harvest of smaller walleye and preventing overpopulation. Winter 2026–2027 limits will be decided after further study. The fishing opener is May 9th.

(Roseville, MN) — It may not seem like it, but now is the time to start planning if you want to plant some native plants in your yard. Minnesota Horticulture Society Board Member Renay Leone says these plants are crucial for Minnesota pollinators. She says those pollinators feed off those plants, and then in turn provide food for other insects, birds, and animals.
