(Bloomington, MN) — State Senator Justin Eichorn (IKE’-horn) of Grand Rapids could be charged today (Wed) with soliciting a minor for prostitution. The 40-year-old Republican was arrested Monday in Bloomington for arranging to meet with a 17-year-old girl for sex – but was met by a police detective. Eichorn was transported from Bloomington to the Hennepin County jail on Tuesday. Democrat and Republican leaders call on Eichorn to step down from the Minnesota Senate. Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said in a statement, “As a 40-year-old man if you come to the Orange Jumpsuit District looking to have sex with someone’s child, you can expect that we are going to lock you up.”

(Eveleth, MN) — A man from Eveleth is jailed in connection with a national child exploitation investigation. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher Chad was arrested Tuesday night on a felony warrant out of Georgia for obscene internet contact with a child. Authorities received a Cyber tip on March 5th that a suspect in Eveleth, who worked at Rock Ridge High School, solicited a minor in Georgia and received child sex abuse material. Multiple searches were executed in Eveleth and Virginia, and multiple items of evidence were collected. Investigators say there is no information that local students were involved. Chad is awaiting extradition to Georgia to face charges.

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota schools could soon have the option to start the school year before Labor Day. A House bill would allow school boards to make the decision for the next two years. Minnesota students must attend 165 days every school year, but the bill’s author, DFL Representative Cheryl Youakim  of Hopkins, says 44 other states require more days in the classroom. Resort owners spoke out against the bill, saying that one-third of their annual budget comes from the month of August, and losing days before Labor Day weekend would be a crushing blow to their business.

SEIU Local 26 Secretary-Treasurer Brahim Kone (cone-AY) says, “Essential workers, often black, brown, and immigrant workers, make the MSP Airport the award-winning airport that it is. But too often struggle to make ends meet.” Kone says key issues are President Trump’s order to end collective bargaining with union TSA officers, lack of affordable healthcare despite airline profits, and the refusal to give rideshare drivers a place to use the bathroom and pray while waiting for rides.

(Eagan, MN) — A three-year-old child from Eagan is recovering after being run over by a car, and his family says his helmet saved his life. A neighbor’s security camera video showed the boy riding his scooter on the sidewalk Monday when he was hit and pinned by an unattended car in a neighbor’s driveway. The boy was quickly helped and brought to Regions Hospital. The incident is still being investigated.

(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings are no longer interested in signing former Packers and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. E-S-P-N and N-F-L Network report that the Vikes plan to make second-year player J-J McCarthy their starting Q-B in 2025. Forty-one-year-old Rodgers reportedly preferred joining Minnesota over the Steelers or Giants. McCarthy did not play his rookie season after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. He led Michigan to the N-C-A-A championship in his junior season.
