>>E-15 Waiver Granted
(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Tim Walz is applauding the federal government’s approval of a temporary fuel waiver that expands access to ethanol-blended gasoline amid ongoing fuel supply shortages. The waiver, granted at the request of Walz and a coalition of Midwest governors, takes effect May 1st. It allows nationwide sales of E15, a gasoline blend containing 15 percent ethanol, and lifts all federal restrictions on the sale of E10, the 10-percent blend commonly sold at stations across the country. In a statement, Walz said, “Minnesotans should not pay the price for the actions of the Trump Administration. Minnesota currently has more than 550 stations offering E15. Drivers purchased over 144 million gallons of the fuel in 2025, saving an average of 14 cents per gallon, according to state data.
