Officials say the toxicology report of 32-year-old Nicholas Lenius revealed the presence of meth in his bloodstream, indicating potential impairment at the time of the shooting. Lenius fatally shot 22-year-old Shellby Trettel and 35-year-old Patrick Roers on January 9th at the Super 8 hotel before taking his own life in his vehicle in the hotel’s parking lot. An investigation of his phone records shows Lenius did not know the victims and may have been dealing with mental health issues.

Westrom encourages people to let elected officials know that the public should have the final say on replacing or keeping the state flag. A state commission approved the new Minnesota flag and seal in December, and both are expected to become official on Statehood Day, May 11th.

(Rochester, MN) — A Rochester man is in custody following the seizure of nearly 400 M30 fentanyl pills. Officials searched the home of 33-year-old Darnell Jones Friday, finding counterfeit M30 pills containing fentanyl, other drug paraphernalia, and a handgun stolen from the Albert Lea area. Jones is charged with first-degree controlled substance sales and possession. He’ll be arraigned later today.
