(Chanhassen, MN) — The Twin Cities is forecasted to receive significant snowfall. The National Weather Service reports a winter storm will occur tonight through Wednesday afternoon. This storm will bring rain, gusty winds, snow, and whiteouts. The metro area is anticipated to receive four to seven inches of snowfall. A Blizzard Warning has been issued for south-central and southeastern Minnesota. This alert will begin at 9 PM and remain effective until 3 PM tomorrow. Travel conditions could be challenging.

(Washington, DC) — A Minnesota employee fired from the U-S Small Business Administration is Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s guest tonight (Tues) for President Trump’s joint address to Congress. Christopher Wicker served as deputy director of the Minnesota S-B-A office until he was laid off in February. Omar’s office says Wicker also served in the Air Force and helped three Afghan interpreters he worked with during his military service relocate to Colorado and the UK.

(St. Cloud, MN) — Minnesota State has named Dr. J Scott Baker, a secondary education professor at St. Cloud State University, the 2025 Educator of the Year. The MN State Board says his “exceptional dedication and innovative contributions to the field of education reflect the mission and historical foundation on which SCSU was built.” Baker will be formally honored on April 16th in St. Paul.

(Grand Portage, MN) — Erin Aili (EYE’-lee) from Ray, Minnesota, is celebrating her second win at the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Aili and her dog team crossed the finish line in Grand Portage just after 10 o’clock this morning (Tues). She said beaver and venison were waiting for her team at the dog track. Aili also took first place in the 2021 Beargrease. Her husband, Keith Aili, won the sled dog marathon along the North Shore in 2023.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Health has begun screening newborns for two additional disorders: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and guanidinoacetate methyltransferase deficiency (GAMT deficiency). DMD causes muscle breakdown, and GAMT deficiency is a lifelong metabolic disorder causing a toxic buildup that, if left untreated, results in learning and behavioral challenges as well as serious brain and muscle problems.

(St. Paul, MN) — March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month. Minnesota Alliance for Problem Gambling (MNAPG) Executive Director Susan Tucker says this year’s theme is “Seeking Understanding,” focusing on how gambling is “a serious but often misunderstood mental health condition.” Tucker says 250,000 adults and 6,000 high school students in Minnesota indicate problem gambling up to addiction levels.

(Maplewood, MN) — Maplewood Police have found a missing man safe. 77-year-old Kermit Hill was last seen leaving his Maplewood home Monday around 8 a.m. Hill’s family was worried due to his history of memory and medical issues.
