>>Hennepin County Detention Deputy Allegedly Assaulted His Wife

(Minneapolis, MN) — A Hennepin County detention deputy is charged with assaulting his wife shortly after giving birth. According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to Maple Grove Hospital on February 5th, where the victim’s mother reported that 30-year-old Dillion Field became aggressive in the delivery room. When she went to get a nurse, Field allegedly shoved her and tried to lock himself in the bathroom with his wife. The hospital briefly went into lockdown. Prosecutors say Field has a history of abuse and that his wife had recently moved out. They cite a January incident where he allegedly tackled her while she was nine months pregnant and put his body weight on her abdomen. Field is on administrative leave.

(Buffalo, MN) — A Hennepin County Sheriff’s deputy has been placed on administrative leave after he was arrested last weekend on charges that he sexually assaulted a woman he met at a bar in Albertville, northwest of the Twin Cities. 33-year-old Jared Sprunk is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct. The woman told Wright County deputies that Sprunk, who was off-duty, sexually assaulted her in a home, despite repeatedly telling him to stop and trying to push him away. Deputies say they found Sprunk extremely intoxicated. He was bleeding from the nose and head. Another man in the home struck Sprunk after he learned of the sexual assault. Sprunk later told investigators that he couldn’t remember what happened.

>>Spring Break Travel Begins at MSP

(Bloomington, MN) — The Metropolitan Airports Commission says the first wave of 2026 spring break travelers is already arriving at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. MSP is expected to serve more than 3.3 million passengers over five weeks ending April 6th. Fridays and Sundays in March are expected to be the busiest days, with more than 45,000 travelers passing through security each day. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Arriving international travelers may face increased wait times to clear customs at MSP and other U.S. airports due to the temporary suspension of the Global Entry Program by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

>>Alcohol Suspected in Rollover Crash North of Rochester

(Rochester, MN) — The State Patrol says alcohol is suspected in an early morning rollover crash on Highway 63 near the Olmsted–Wabasha County line. The crash was reported around 1:40 a.m. (FRI) about halfway between Rochester and Zumbro Falls. Troopers say the northbound car left the road and rolled into the ditch. The driver, 27-year-old Grant Gilman of Duluth, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. According to the report, he was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol involvement is suspected. The crash remains under investigation.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Minneapolis police are investigating three separate shootings that happened within 20 minutes Thursday night. The first incident was reported around 6:29 p.m. inside a home, where police say an altercation between two men escalated into gunfire. The victim suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, and the suspect fled. About seven minutes later, officers responded to another shooting where a man was hit while walking outside. His injuries are non-life-threatening. Police later arrested three suspects, ages 18, 21, and 22, during an overnight traffic stop. The third shooting happened at 6:46 p.m., when a woman was shot while outside. Her injuries are non-life-threatening. Investigators say the three shootings do not appear to be related.

(St. Louis Park, MN) — Gas prices continue to rise in Minnesota and across the nation. Triple-A is reporting today’s statewide average for regular unleaded is $3.18 a gallon. That’s up from $2.69 last Friday, the day before the U-S and Israel launched the attacks on Iran. Fuel analysts expect oil and gas prices to continue rising due to the Middle East conflict. The national average rose to $3.32 per gallon.

The concert will raise funds for organizations assisting families affected by immigration enforcement.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The University of Minnesota men’s hockey team plays its final regular-season game tonight against number two Michigan State. The Big Ten champion Spartans routed the Golden Gophers 7-1 on Thursday in the series opener. This is senior night at Mariucci Arena for the ‘Maroon and Gold, ‘and the 1976 N-C-A-A Championship team will be honored on the 50th anniversary. Minnesota is a disappointing 11-21-and-2 overall and 7-15 in conference play.
