>>Camp House Fire in St. Louis County Destroys 3 Cabins, Grows to 750 Acres

(Brimson, MN) — Crews in northeastern Minnesota continue to battle the Camp House fire near Brimson in St. Louis County. Authorities say at least three cabins and a garage have been destroyed, and the fire has grown to 750 acres. The Interagency Fire Center says firefighters continue full suppression tactics on the fire while protecting threatened structures surrounding the fire perimeter. More than 20 residences have been evacuated in the area.

 

>>Fergus Falls Cooking Fire Results in $20,000 in Damages

(Fergus Falls, MN) — A Fergus Falls apartment fire left tenants displaced Sunday afternoon. Firefighters saw smoke coming from one of the units involved. Due to the quick action of another tenant who used a fire extinguisher on the fire, damage was confined to one apartment unit. Training and Safety Division Chief Dan Lipson says the cooking fire resulted in $20,000 in damages. The Red Cross is aiding the displaced tenants.

 

>>Red Flag Warning Issued for 80 Minnesota Counties 

(Chanhassen, MN) — Eighty Minnesota counties are under a Red Flag Warning today as extreme fire danger continues in the state. The warning means fires can spread quickly and grow out of control due to gusty winds and low relative humidity. There were multiple fires this weekend across Minnesota. Burning of large debris is prohibited during extreme fire risk conditions, and campfires are discouraged.

 

>>One Person Displaced in Moorhead Apartment Fire

(Moorhead, MN) — One person was displaced after an apartment fire in Moorhead early this morning. Upon arrival, firefighters could see heavy smoke and flames from a third-floor window. Firefighters put the fire out before it spread to any other units. Damage to the unit is in the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. No one was hurt. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced resident. The cause is under investigation.

 

>>Rochester Woman Injured in Car vs. Deer Crash near Cannon Falls 

(Cannon Falls, MN) — A deer is blamed for causing a crash near Cannon Falls that sent a Rochester woman to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol says 23-year-old Jailee Henderickson was driving south on Highway 52 around 9 p.m. Sunday when she struck the deer. Henderickson was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The report shows alcohol was not involved.

(St. Paul, MN) — This is Minnesota State Patrol Day at the Capitol. The event includes live drone demonstrations, interactive displays, and a chance to meet our state troopers. They will be showing off the State Patrol’s new twin-engine helicopter, which is equipped with a hoist system for rescues. The new State Capitol K-9 explosives detection team is there, and vintage Minnesota State Patrol vehicles are on display.
