>>BPD Search for Endangered, Missing Woman

(Brooklyn Park, MN) — Brooklyn Park police are searching for an endangered, missing adult. 33-year-old Desire Williams was last seen leaving her Brooklyn Park home on foot Wednesday. She’s described as Black, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Williams was last seen wearing black and white leggings, a gray long-sleeved top, a blue backpack, and gray Crocs. She has health concerns.

 

>>Moorhead Police Investigating Death of 20-Month-Old Child 

(Moorhead, MN) — Police in Moorhead are investigating the death of a baby. Officers were notified by the Cass County Coroner’s Office about the suspicious death of a 20-month-old from Moorhead who’d been taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo late Thursday night. Investigators learned the child had been living with family in Moorhead. The Minnesota BCA is processing the scene, and no arrests have been made. The child was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.   

 

>>NWS Reports 4 Tornadoes in MN During Severe Storms

(Chanhassen, MN) – The National Weather Service is looking into at least four reported tornado touchdowns in Minnesota. Meteorologist Jake Beitlich says a strong, low-pressure system brought gusty winds and severe storms to parts of the state on Thursday. Tornadoes were reported far northwest by Grand Forks and Crookston, wet central Minnesota near Benson, a “skinny-rope” tornado near Montevideo, and another near Spring Hill. Beitlich says there was damage in the Benson area. Three-quarters inch fell in Isanti and near Zimmerman in Sherburne County. 

 

>>House Passes Health Policy Bill

(St. Paul, MN) – The Minnesota House passed the Omnibus Health Policy Bill unanimously, 134-0. The bill includes expanding the practice of optometrists, allowing newborns to be dropped off at more 24-hour fire stations, and creating a path for non-profit health care organizations to get Capitol funding. The session ends Monday at midnight, but lawmakers on both sides have said a special session will be needed to finish the work.

 

>>3 People Arrested for Theft in Duluth

(Duluth, MN) — Two men and one woman are in custody for theft in Duluth. Earlier this month, police responded to multiple calls of brass railings and fittings being stolen from the Skywalk System, valued at over $5,000. Officers say two suspects were seen using tools to remove the items on Tuesday. On Thursday, police found the two suspects, Nicholas Martin, 32, and Laveena Martinson, 24, and arrested them. A third person, Waylon Lanham, 43, was also arrested. Martin and Martinson face charges of felony theft and possession of burglary tools, while Lanham faces aiding felony theft charges.

 

>>Minnesota Twins Ride 11-Game Win Streak into Milwaukee 

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Minnesota Twins ride an 11-game win streak into tonight’s 7 p.m. series opener against the Brewers in Milwaukee. The Twins shut out the Orioles 4-0 Thursday afternoon to sweep a three-game series in Baltimore. Joe Ryan is the starting pitcher for Minnesota this evening at American Family Field. No word on whether shortstop Carlos Correa and center fielder Byron Buxton will be available. They were both placed in concussion protocol after colliding Thursday in the outfield at Camden Yards.
