(Minnetonka, MN) — A 17-year-old has died following a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highways 7 and 101 late Sunday in Minnetonka. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver, a teenager from Corcoran, was heading east on Highway 7 around 10:45 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a large pole, causing it to burst into flames. The driver’s identity is expected to be released later today.

(Duluth, MN) — Police in Duluth are identifying the driver killed in a fiery crash Saturday on West Skyline Parkway. Officers say the vehicle left the roadway and was upside down on fire when first responders arrived. Fire extinguishers were used to put out a fire near the front half of the vehicle, and 19-year-old Tyriq Gordon died at the scene. Investigators believe that Gordon was speeding, which was a factor in his inability to navigate a curve in the road.

(St. Paul, MN) — A Hastings woman is dead after a fatal crash on I-949 in South St. Paul this morning (MON). State Troopers responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., learning an eastbound Chevy Malibu rear-ended a semi at high speeds. The Malibu driver, a 39-year-old woman, died. The 39-year-old Wisconsin semi-driver was unharmed.

>>Kandiyohi Hunters Rescued in Two Separate Water Incidents

(Kandiyohi County, MN) — The Kandiyoi(Candy-YO-high) County Sheriff’s Department rescued hunters on Saturday in two separate water incidents. Around 6:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of two duck hunters, ages 33 and 13, with early signs of hypothermia stranded on the Middle Fork Crow River in New London Township. The wind was gusting at about 30 mph. After their boat filled with water, the pair swam to an island to call for help. Just after 1:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received another report of a hunter stranded on an island in Big Kandiyohi Lake. The 32-year-old man’s boat had sunk after it filled with water due to the strong winds. The man was rescued and returned to shore.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Golden Gopher star wrestler Gable Steveson (STEEV-son) will return to the college mat this weekend. Steveson hasn’t wrestled for Minnesota since he won the national championship in 2022. The 2021 Olympic gold medalist from Apple Valley had one year of eligibility remaining and says it was an “easy decision” to come back to use it. Since his last college competition, Steveson has been with the W-W-E and had a tryout with the N-F-L’s Buffalo Bills, among other things. The eighth-ranked Gophers will host Campbell University on Sunday at 1 P-M at Maturi Pavilion. Steveson will wrestle as a heavyweight.
