(Minneapolis, MN) — An 18-year-old was shot and killed near central Minneapolis Tuesday. Police responded to shooting reports around 8:40 p.m., finding a man with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is working to identify the victim, cause, and manner of death. No other information is being released.

(Red Wing, MN) – Bail is set at $2 million for a Red Wing man accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend. Goodhue County prosecutors are charging 41-year-old Darryl Nixon Jr. with the second-degree murder of 40-year-old Andrea Broyld of Red Wing. Police were called to the report of a suicidal man with a gun Sunday night and negotiated with Nixon for three hours until he came out of the duplex. Broyld was found on a couch with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. Nixon’s next court appearance is Monday.

(Pine Island, MN) — A Pine Island man faces a felony animal torture charge in connection with a dog death on his property in Olmsted County. Deputies responded to an animal mistreatment report in July at 82-year-old Hadley Thompson’s Pine Island home. On arrival, officials found an eight-year-old dog lying on a dirt floor kennel with matted fur, feces, and maggots on its backside. The dog’s condition was so poor it had to be euthanized. Thompson is due in court next month.

(St. Augusta, MN) — A Cokato woman was injured in a farm tractor crash Monday. State Patrol responded to the crash on Highway 15 in St. Augusta around 5:30 p.m. Investigators say 18-year-old Clara Brandel was northbound when she collided with a tractor turning onto the highway. Brandel was brought to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Tractor driver, 31-year-old Ryan Dammann of Clearwater, was unharmed.

(Robbinsdale, MN) — Robbinsdale Area Public Schools meets tonight to address the $20 million budget shortage for the 2025-2026 school year. The district explains the total income of $200 million contained $180 million in general revenues and $20 million in compensatory funding. The mistake was the $20 million being counted twice. Officials say they now must look at repurposing, renovating, and closing buildings.

(Chanhassen, MN) — Some areas of western and central Minnesota already have measurable snowfall on the ground. The National Weather Service reports one inch of snow near Morris in Stevens County, an inch northeast of Melrose in Stearns County, one inch southwest of Eden Valley in Meeker County, and about an inch southeast of Madison in Lac qui Parle County. Other locations in central Minnesota got about a half inch. There’s a dusting so far in the Twin Cities area.
