(Duluth, MN) — A 14-year-old female student is accused of assaulting two police officers and a staff member at Duluth Denfeld High School. Police were called to the school Tuesday to assist staff members in stopping a fight between several students. Investigators say the officers were hurt separating the students, and three staff members suffered the effects of a chemical irritant. Duluth Denfeld went into a brief hold following the incident. The 14-year-old girl was taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center.

(Polk County, MN) – Two people killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday in Polk County have been identified. State Patrol say around 8 a.m., an eastbound car in Bray Township left the road and rolled over into a ditch. The driver and passenger, 68-year-old Tina Klein and 62-year-old Charles Hill, both of Grand Forks, North Dakota, were killed. Officials report snow and ice-covered roads.

(Minneapolis) – A Ramsey County man has pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and multiple carjacking charges. Court documents show 21-year-old Ricardo Walker was wanted for several incidents involving carjackings and using an illegal weapon between 2021 and June of this year. The records show that Walker admitted to these crimes and used the threat of violence with a firearm to intimidate the victims. This case results from an investigation by several law enforcement agencies in the Twin Cities.

>>Man Convicted of 2021 Minneapolis Murder Granted New Trial

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man convicted of fatally shooting another man at a vigil in north Minneapolis in 2021 will face a new trial. Deandre Turner was found guilty in 2023 of the second-degree intentional murder of Andrew McGinley on June 30, 2021. The shooting took place outside Plymouth’s Elks Club during a ceremony following a funeral. Turner has been granted a new trial in district court after a judge found he had been “deprived of a fair trial due to evidentiary errors and misconduct from the prosecution.” Turner’s new trial will be scheduled later.

>> Changes Coming to Stone Arch Bridge Closure

(Minneapolis)—Starting Monday (December 2), pedestrians and cyclists will notice a change with the Stone Arch Bridge closure. The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the Minneapolis side. The portion of Portland Avenue that crosses under the Stone Arch Bridge will also be closed to vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians. MnDOT says these closures are necessary to begin preparing for restoration work set for the spring of 2025. The St. Anthony Main side of the bridge will reopen on Monday.

>>Minnesota Vikings Signing Ex-Giants Quarterback Jones

(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly signing former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. New York released the 2019 first-round pick and became a free agent Monday. E-S-P-N and N-F-L Network are reporting Jones will ink a one-year deal for the remainder of the season in Minnesota. Jones led the Giants to a wild-card playoff win over the Vikings in January of 2023. Coach Kevin O’Connell has said he’s a big fan of Jones. He’s expected to start out on the practice squad in Minnesota.
