(Baudette, MN) — Authorities have recovered the boat linked to the mid-October drowning of a Chaska man on Lake of the Woods. According to the Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office, 69-year-old Brian Herridge of Chaska and a 69-year-old woman from Colorado were aboard a 26-foot aluminum jet boat on October 18 when it capsized, plunging both into the 48-degree water. A nearby boater was able to pull both from the lake, but Herridge did not survive. The woman was treated for cold-water exposure. Officials said the 26-foot flat-bottom jet boat was recovered on Wednesday, about a mile and a half outside the Gap in roughly 24 feet of water. Investigators believe the incident was accidental, though the case remains open pending autopsy results.

(Little Falls, MN) — Today marks nine years since Terrence “Terry” Brisk was murdered while deer hunting in Morrison County. The Sheriff’s Office continues to pursue every lead and explore new forensic opportunities, but they are also asking for the public’s help in providing any information that can help solve the case. Brisk was deer hunting on his parents’ land near Little Falls on November 7th, 2016, when he was shot and killed with his own rifle. Authorities say evidence at the scene leads them to believe the suspect was in close proximity to Brisk and that the two would have interacted with one another. Local officials continue to work with state and federal agencies to bring closure to the case and hold the person responsible for Brisk’s death.

(Moorhead, MN) — White Earth Nation has confirmed the FBI arrested someone at its Moorhead recreational marijuana store on Thursday morning. The tribal council says the person was wanted on outstanding warrants. Agents tracked him to Waabigwan Mashkiki, where they conducted a “whisper stop.” A whisper stop refers to an arrest that comes after a tip from another agency. Agents arrested the suspect as he left the store. The tribal council says the FBI cleared the scene after approximately 35 minutes.
