As we enter the next phase of this process, the time is right to make this decision public.” Some Twins fans have been calling for new ownership after a 30-million-dollar payroll reduction, a lack of free-agent signings, and a fourth-place finish in the American League Central. The Minnesota Twins organization is worth an estimated one-a-half billion dollars.

(Charles City, IA) — Pure Prairie Poultry’s closure in Charles City, Iowa, has caused problems for some Minnesota farmers. The state’s agriculture commissioner has stated that there is a high likelihood that thousands of the birds may need to be culled as there are currently no processing facilities available to take them.

Authorities responded around 11:25 p.m. when a garage fire had spread to two other buildings, a three-story apartment and a motel. One resident was hospitalized, and two firefighters were injured. Crews are still at the scene this morning (Thursday). The cause of the fire is being investigated.

(St. Paul, MN) — The state of Minnesota is awarding more than 50-million dollars in grants to expand broadband access around the state. Governor Walz announced the grants yesterday, saying they would fund high-speed internet access for nearly nine-thousand homes and businesses. More than 33-million was awarded through the Border-to-Border Broadband Program, while nearly 20-million came from the Low Population Density Program. Two-dozen broadband projects will be supported through the grants.

(Brooklyn Park, MN) — Brooklyn Park police are searching for three armed robbers after a home invasion Wednesday. Officers responded to a Brooklyn Park home around 9:43 p.m., where a resident explained three armed and masked men came through an open door and stole the victim’s property. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. Police believe the suspects and victim know each other.
