(Fond Du Lac, MN) — Fond Du Lac Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing person in the Brookston area. 51-year-old Nori Jean Pribble was last heard on Sunday morning. Pribble was last seen on foot around Highway 31 and McCamus Road Saturday around 6 p.m. wearing a multi-colored dress and a navy blue shawl. She’s described as white, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Pribble may have been seen around Highway 31 and Highway 2 around 2 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call Fond Du Lac Police.

(Andover, MN) — The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a missing girl. 16-year-old Tivona Cardenas was last seen in North Minneapolis in late September. Cardenas is described as a Native American/Alaskan native, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 108 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information should contact detectives at 763-324-5000.

 

>>Man in Critical Condition from Winona Shooting

(Winona, MN) — A man is in critical condition after a shooting in Winona this morning. Police responded to an apartment around 4:22 a.m. on reports of shots fired. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound and brought him to a local hospital. A Winona man was arrested on the scene. Police say there is no threat to the public and the case is under investigation.

 

>>St. Paul Man Faces 3 Murder Charges for Separate Minneapolis Incidents 

(Hennepin County, MN) — A St. Paul man who faces three murder charges in separate incidents across Minneapolis appears in court today. 20-year-old Albert Lucas is charged in connection with the murders of 19-year-old George Zeon in May 2021, 20-year-old Antonia Harper of Minneapolis on November 6th, 2023, in Minneapolis, and a mass shooting in February that killed 34-year-old Pierre Miller of Brooklyn Park and injured three others. Lucas has been in jail since May and has a $2 million bail. 19-year-old Jahon Lynch of Robbinsdale faces the same charges in Harper’s murder as he was allegedly with Lucas during the crime. Lynch remains in jail with $100,000 bail and is next in court on November 12th.

 

>>MN Sees 3rd Month in a Row of Net Job Growth, Up 0.2%

(Undated) – Minnesota employers continue to add jobs. DEED (Department of Employment and Economic Development) Commissioner Matt Varilek says September was another strong employment month in Minnesota, with employers adding 6,300 new jobs. MN saw 0.2% job growth, which is on par with the national rate, and September is our third month in a row of net job growth. Minnesota gained 37,566 jobs over the year, up 1.3%, which is slightly slower than the national rate of 1.5%.

(Durham, NC) — Governor Tim Walz is on the campaign trail in North Carolina today for the first day of early voting in the state. Walz will join former President Bill Clinton at an event this afternoon in Durham. The Democratic vice presidential candidate is speaking at a Harris-Walz rally tonight in Winston-Salem. The campaign says hip-hop artist and actor Common will appear with Walz to talk about the importance of voting.

 

>>MHA Urges Seniors to Comparison Shop Medicare Advantage Plans After Big Insurance Changes

(St. Paul, MN) – With the enrollment period now open through December 7th, health officials warn Minnesota residents to take time and care when choosing their Medicare healthcare plan as big changes are coming for 2025. Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) President/CEO Rahul Koranne says the care denial for many for-profit Medicare Advantage plans has increased by 55% year over year, “which is more than twice that 22% increase that we have seen for commercially insured patients.” Koranne says an estimated 60,000 Minnesotans have providers, clinics, and hospitals that will no longer be in-network. He pleads seniors comparison shop plans, talk to their providers, and treat Medicare plan decisions as any other major life investment.

 

>>Conditions in Minnesota Worsen in Latest U.S. Drought Monitor Map

(Lincoln, NE) — Drought conditions are worsening in Minnesota as we move into late October. The new U.S. Drought Monitor map shows more than 71% of the state is in a moderate drought and 28% in a severe drought. 97% of Minnesota is now considered abnormally dry. The driest areas are in northeast and north central Minnesota and the southwest corner of the state.
