(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Tim Walz will be campaigning in Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania over the next three days. The Democrats’ V-P candidate is speaking at a reception at 5 o’clock this evening (Wed) in Louisville, Kentucky. Walz leaves for Durham, North Carolina tonight and will make several campaigns stop there Thursday morning. He’s going to an event tomorrow afternoon in Greenville and giving a speech at an evening rally in Wilmington. Walz has several events Friday in Pennsylvania. Governor Walz, his wife Gwen, and 18-year-old son, Gus, voted early this morning in St. Paul.

Bruce Nustad of Minnesota Retailers says this is such an important holiday and businesses don’t want to miss out on any Minnesota dollars. Nustad says they are expecting consumers to spend around 900 dollars on holiday gifts this year.

(McGregor, MN) — Authorities in Aitkin County are investigating a deadly camper fire near McGregor. Sheriff’s deputies were called Monday about a camper and vehicle that burned over night in Shamrock Township. They discovered human remains inside the camper during the investigation. The body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. The State Fire Marshal’s office is helping local investigators with the case.
>>Freeport Woman Killed by Semi While Biking Near Bowlus
(Bowlus, MN) — A woman from Freeport is dead after being hit by a semi while riding her bike south of Bowlus in Morrison County. Deputies say 79-year-old Cyrilla Michael was biking west on the Soo-Line Trail Tuesday when she failed to yield and was struck by the semi. Michael died at the scene.
>>Death of Teen at Haunted Hayride in St . Augusta Believed to be Accidental
(St. Augusta, MN) — Stearns County investigators say the death of a 13-year-old boy at the Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride is believed to be accidental. Sheriff’s officials say Alexander Mick of Rice was volunteering at the event and his job was to frighten riders being pulled through the cornfield. They say no one saw Mick being run over or how the accident happened. The preliminary investigation revealed nothing of criminal nature.

(St. Paul, MN) — Police say six tents at a St. Paul homeless encampment were destroyed this morning (Wed) in a fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
