The Democratic presidential nominee is speaking tonight (Thurs 6pm) at a Harris-Walz rally in Wilmington. Walz heads to Philadelphia late tonight and has several events on Friday in Pennsylvania.

(Mankato, MN) — A group of educators from Jordan is touring the U.S. to learn about different aspects of American life. The group visited Mankato, touring the Minnesota State and South Central College campuses yesterday. During the tour, the educators gained insight into the partnership between the two colleges, which resulted in establishing the new School of Applied Agriculture. They are considering adopting some of the ideas they learned during the tour when they return to Jordan. Additionally, these visits may pave the way for international partnerships between colleges in Jordan and the United States.

(Pine City, MN) — The Evergreen Fire near Pine City is nearing containment. It started in the Chengwatana State Forest last week and was 70% contained on Wednesday. A closure order for approximately 4,500 acres of the forest is still in effect.

(Zimmerman, MN) — The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is seeking assistance in locating a missing teenager from Zimmerman. Sixteen-year-old Ryan Mackew has been missing since leaving his home on September 18th. Mackew is described as five feet, seven inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with hazel eyes and black-dyed hair. Authorities suspect that he may be in the Minneapolis area. Anyone with information can contact the NCMEC or the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.

(Undated) — Get ready to turn back time as daylight saving time ends. Clocks will “fall back” one hour on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 a.m., marking the official end of daylight saving time for the year. This means earlier sunrises, sunsets well before 7 p.m., and, for many, an extra hour of sleep. It won’t be until March 2025 that we adjust our clocks to “spring ahead” once again.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A high-speed driver caused a seven-vehicle crash in Minneapolis, resulting in at least one death and one serious injury. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred Wednesday night at about 9:15 on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis. Troopers stated that 32-year-old Jesse Drumgoole of St. Paul was traveling east on Interstate 94 to Lyndale Avenue at a high rate of speed when he crashed into six other vehicles, causing severe damage. Drumgoole suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and it was reported that alcohol was in his system. His passenger, 20-year-old Taniyah Randle-Smith of St. Paul, sustained life-threatening injuries. A Minneapolis woman who was a passenger in an S-U-V was killed and six other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

(Undated) — Any rain in the forecast is welcome news as the drought conditions worsen this fall. The latest update from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows that 86 percent of Minnesota is now experiencing Moderate Drought, up from 72 percent last week. Additionally, 43 percent of the state is now in a Severe Drought, up from 28 percent last week.
