>>St. Paul Man Charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide in 7-Vehicle Minneapolis Crash

(Minneapolis, MN) — A St. Paul man has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide after causing a multi-car crash in Minneapolis Wednesday that killed one and injured nine others. State Patrol responded to the crash around 9:15 p.m. on I-94 near Lyndale Avenue, learning a Chevy Avalanche caused a seven-vehicle crash. Police say the Avalanche driver and suspect, 29-year-old Talon Covie-Cardrell Walker, had an open bottle of alcohol on the floor of the driver’s side and was hitting 100 mph. 26-year-old Natalie Gubbay of Minneapolis died at the scene. Walker makes his first court appearance today.

 

>>Suspect in Deadly Dinkytown Shooting Indicted on First-Degree Murder Charges

(Minneapolis, MN) – The man accused of fatally shooting two people in a tobacco store near the University of Minnesota campus is now facing first-degree murder charges. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says a grand jury indicted 26-year-old Maleek Conley on 13 charges, including four counts of first-degree murder. Police said Conley fired 24 shots inside the Dinkytown tobacco shop on December 3rd of last year, killing Jamartre Sanders and Bryson Haskell and wounding an employee. Surveillance video captured the shooting.

 

>>St. Cloud Man Pleads Guilty to 5/20 Felony Child Pornography Charges

(St. Cloud, MN) — A St. Cloud man has pleaded guilty to five child pornography charges. 26-year-old Ebin Bergerson was charged with 20 felony counts of child pornography in February. Bergerson was convicted of similar charges in 2016 and 2018. Bergerson was arrested and charged after 10 separate tips to the MN BCA. Warrants found hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his electronic devices. Bergerson’s sentencing is on January 9th.

 

>>Celebrity Chef, St. Paul Native Sutherland in Jail Again

(St. Paul, MN) — Celebrity chef and St. Paul native Justin Sutherland is in custody again after violating a no-contact order. Sutherland was seen at a St. Paul Spirit Halloween by a police officer Thursday with a woman he was not allowed contact with. He was arrested and is currently in Ramsey County Jail. This comes just days after pleading guilty to a domestic violence incident with this girlfriend, where he allegedly choked her, pointed a gun at her, and said he wished she was dead. Sutherland’s sentencing is on December 13th.

 

>>Man Sentenced for Taking Angle Grinder to Midco Internet, Cable Lines in Fargo

(Fargo, ND) — A man has been sentenced to 180 days in jail for causing thousands of dollars in damage in Fargo earlier this year. Timothy Windles pleaded guilty and admitted to using an angle grinder to cut Midco internet and cable lines at seven Fargo locations in August, causing significant outages. Windels was arrested on August 28th with the angle grinder in his custody. He must also pay $4,000 in restitution and fines.

 

>>Democratic VP Candidate Walz Continues on Campaign Trail in Pennsylvania 

(Philadelphia, PA) – The campaign says Governor Tim Walz is engaging with Black and Latino voters today in Pennsylvania. The Democratic vice presidential candidate is visiting a Black-owned restaurant in Philadelphia and a family-owned restaurant offering Spanish and Dominican comfort foods in Allentown. Walz is speaking at a campaign rally tonight in Scranton before traveling to Las Vegas.

 

>>MN American Legion Holds Annual Conference in St. Cloud

(St. Cloud, MN) – The Minnesota American Legion begins its annual Fall Conference in St. Cloud today through tomorrow at the River’s Edge Convention Center. Commander Carl Moon says one of the topics of discussion is recruiting more younger veterans. He explains that even if they can’t be active in the legion, numbers mean a lot when heading to Congress in support of veterans’ issues. The American Legion also has programs supporting veterans’ families, including scholarships for their children and support for active-duty veterans and their families. This is the third year of a five-year contract to hold the American Legion Fall Conference in St. Cloud.
