(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minneapolis Police Department says it has identified more victims of the deadly Annunciation Catholic Church mass shooting, raising the number to 30. Officers say the total changed after victims discovered they had shrapnel wounds and went to the hospital after the fact. One was not injured from gunfire. Of the 29 injured in the shooting, 26 were children. Eight-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski were both killed.

(St.Paul, MN) — State Lawmakers are still waiting for a special session on gun violence in Minnesota. D-F-L Senator Heather Gustafson of Vadnais Heights says they could put more funding into mental health and talk about school safety, but the debate also needs to address guns. Republican Senator Michael Kreun of Blaine says some action could be taken now. He says one example could be extending safe school funding to non-public schools. G-O-P leaders say they don’t want to vote on banning assault-style rifles or high-capacity magazines.

(St. Paul, MN) — A new report from Explore Minnesota finds international travel to the state remains low. It shows a slowdown in air travel and international visits from April through August. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport saw a 2.8 percent drop, or about 500,000 fewer travelers, compared to 2024. Business activity also declined for more than half of tourism-related businesses in the state. Fifty-one percent of participating businesses reported a downturn, while 30 percent saw an increase. Canadian travel to Minnesota has taken a notable hit, with arrivals down 18 percent through August.

(Cohasset, MN) — The man who escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw last month in back in custody. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Michael Hart was found hiding in a basement Tuesday at a home in Cohasset. Deputies say Hart refused to exit the stairwell and they deployed a Pepper Ball to arrest him. The report says he remained uncooperative after being placed in handcuffs and assaulted deputies. A 29-year-old woman was also taken into custody for aiding an offender.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Broadway musical adaption of Purple Rain is being extended for an additional week in downtown Minneapolis. Purple Rain will now run Thursday October 16th through November 23rd at the State Theatre. Tickets for the extra performances went on sale Tuesday. Purple Rain is making its world premiere in Prince’s hometown before it goes to New York City. Officials at Hennepin Arts says it was extended due to “extraordinary” audience demand.
