(Munson, MN) — An Indiana man is dead after rolling his pickup truck Monday in Munson, about 25 miles west of St. Cloud. State Patrol says 36-year-old Charles Mullins was heading north on Highway 22 when his truck left the road, rolled, and landed upside down in the water. Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A woman whose life-in-prison sentence for her role in the murder of a real estate agent was overturned in January will reenter a plea and be resentenced in court today. 32-year-old Elsa Segura was found guilty of aiding and abetting charges of attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, and first-degree murder while committing kidnapping. Police say she lured 28-year-old Monique Baugh to a fake Maple Grove home showing on New Year’s Eve 2019, where she was kidnapped, tortured, and killed by Segura and three men, including her then-boyfriend. The Minnesota Supreme Court overturned her sentence, citing that the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence and an error was made in jury instructions. Segura was set for a new trial in October but has since reached a plea deal with Hennepin County prosecutors.

(Rochester, MN) — The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office seized pounds of methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription pills from a Minneapolis man over the course of a multi-month drug investigation. Investigation into 27-year-old Burhan Hassan began in April after he sold 29 grams of cocaine to law enforcement in a Rochester business parking lot. Earlier this month. Hassan sold 2.87 pounds of meth to a confidential informant in Byron. Hassan was arrested after the second controlled buy on Highway 14 in southeast Rochester. His vehicle turned up 6.05 pounds of meth and 111 oxycodone pills. Hassan is due back in court in October.

(Duluth, MN) — A 24-year-old Duluth man is in custody pending second-degree assault charges after stabbing a woman Sunday. Police responded to a residential area in Duluth, finding a 35-year-old woman with stab wounds to the arm. She was brought to a local hospital.

(Duluth, MN) — A 43-year-old Duluth man is in custody for pending charges of a felony drive-by shooting and violation of an order for protection Sunday. Police responded to a Duluth home on reports of a shooting. Officers learned people were inside the home, but no injuries were reported. The suspect and residents were known to each other. While in jail, officers seized a small amount of meth from the suspect, adding a charge of smuggling contraband into prison.

Thank you, Sir!” The email included text saying, “Islam hates us, “Islam’s our declared enemy,” and “don’t believe the lying Muslims,” and referred to the Quran as “hate speech against Jews and Christians.”
