Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson says she and her counterparts in several other states are preparing to sue the Trump administration over its policy on separating children from parents who have illegally entered the U-S. Swanson says there’s too much chaos surrounding treatment of the children and a federal court needs to ensure constitutional safeguards are met. She says President Trump initially indicated he could not stop the practice of separating families, then signed an executive order purportedly intended to stop it, then said he would not reunite families already separated, and then changed his stance on that. Swanson says Trump administration officials are giving confusing and incomplete answers on how reunification will take place.
