(Medina, MN) — Medina-based Polaris is cutting 100 jobs. Fourth quarter profits dropped 18-percent and overall sales were down 13-percent. Officials say off-road vehicle sales dropped 20 percent in the fourth quarter and snowmobile sales were down 25 percent. The company says “unseasonably warm winter constrained demand for off-road vehicles and snowmobiles” and the strengthening dollar and the falling value of oil played a role. Fifty of the layoffs will be at locations in Medina, Plymouth and Wyoming, with a “small number” also eliminated in Roseau.
