The Golden Gopher softball team begins play in the 2016 Big Ten Softball Tournament at Penn State today. Minnesota is ranked 19th in the country and is the number-two seed in the event. The Gophers play against Illinois today at 1:30 P-M in a quarterfinal game. The Fighting Illini beat Michigan State yesterday in a first round game, 3-2.
