Minnesota has its first case of the COVID-19 coronavirus. State health officials say it’s an older adult resident of Ramsey County who recently traveled on a cruise ship with a known coronavirus case. They say the patient began to develop symptoms February 25th and sought health care yesterday (Thurs). The patient is currently in isolation at home and is recovering. The state Health Department is working to identify and contact those who might have come in contact with the infected person. Commissioner Jan Malcolm says the appearance of coronavirus in Minnesota was expected and now is the time to remember that Minnesotans have the ability to slow the spread of the disease and protect each other.
