Minnesota has hit a single-day high of 56 deaths from COVID-19, and the state has 49-hundred newly-confirmed cases. Governor Tim Walz says, “That type of spread and that type of spike will continue, unless we choose to adjust behaviors… and will also make sure that our hospitalizations and our capacity remain the same.” Walz says unless behaviors change, Minnesota will have 10-thousand new cases per day, 15-hundred people in the hospital, and 50 or more deaths per day.
New restrictions on bars and restaurants take effect Friday night. Attendance limits will be phased-in for receptions at weddings and funerals. The governor is also asking Minnesotans to limit private gatherings to 10 people, from no more than three households.
