The head of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) plans to visit a Lonsdale business owner who put up a “Muslims Get Out” sign outside his restaurant.
Jaylani Hussein says he’s going to ask the Treats Family Restaurant owner, Dan Ruedinger, to meet with Muslim community leaders at the Islamic Center of Faribault “and we believe that and from our experience that interactions with Muslims can easily enhance the knowledge and sometimes can reduce anti-Muslim or Islamophobic attitudes and we hope he accepts that this would be a great place to start a dialogue and discussion.”
Hussein says he’ll also ask Ruedinger to take down the sign. Ruedinger says after the recent mall stabbings in St. Cloud, he’s had enough of extremist violence.
