March 28, 2021 By kevin.falness@mnnradio.com

(undated)  —  The field is set for the 2021 Frozen Four in Pittsburgh and it will feature an overwhelming Minnesota flavor.  The NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament began with all five Minnesota Divsion I programs in the tourney for the first time – and all five schools advanced to the second round.  After bouncing Wisconsin, Bemidji State bowed out to U-Mass to end their run.  Minnesota Duluth advanced when Michigan had to withdraw due to Covid – and then followed that up by taking North Dakota to five overtimes before finally winning the contest on freshman Luke Mylymok’s game winner and sending the Bulldogs to their fourth straight Frozen Four.
