Lindsay Whalen
The Minnesota Lynx begin the 2016 WNBA Finals against the Los Angeles Sparks with Game One on Sunday afternoon at the Target Center at 2 P-M. Lynx star Lindsay Whalen grew up in Hutchinson and was a star basketball player there, before becoming a statewide folk hero with the Golden Gopher program, helping Minnesota reach the 2004 NCAA Final Four. She has now been a part of three WNBA title-winning teams with the Lynx in her homestate and is hoping to make it back-to-back championships in 2016. She also has won two Olympic Gold Medals with Team USA, including a gold in Rio this past summer.
She sat down with Minnesota News Network sports director Mike Grimm in an interview for the MNN Program “Minnesota Matters.” Whalen says she is looking forward to the WNBA Finals getting underway on Sunday:
