The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce PAC has endorsed former Governor Tim Pawlenty in his bid for a third term, instead of Republican Party endorsed candidate Jeff Johnson. Doug Stang, head of the Minnesota Chamber Leadership Fund PAC, says Pawlenty is best positioned to “listen, work with the Legislature, make change, and balance interests of the entire state.” Johnson says the Chamber endorsing Pawlenty is “not surprising,” and adds the business organization “is about working within our current broken government system.” Johnson says as governor, he’ll “fundamentally change that broken system to serve people rather than special interests.” Pawlenty and Johnson square off in the August 14th primary.
