Tuesday night’s heavy turnout at Minnesota’s caucuses is prompting a call from D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin for the state to have a presidential primary election where people could vote all day long. Martin says Tuesday night “there were a number of people who wanted to participate, who just couldn’t because of the long lines and the confusion that existed in a pretty chaotic situation for both parties.” Minnesota G-O-P Chairman Keith Downey says criticism of the current caucus system is legitimate, but adds “blaming Hillary Clinton’s crushing defeat in Minnesota on the caucus system is not a good reason to change it.”
