Minnesota groups are weighing in as the U-S Supreme Court considers whether government employees who don’t belong to unions must still pay union dues. Kim Crockett with the Center of the American Experiment says with so-called “fair share” dues, “What you have is a forced union system where the government collects the dues for them.” Crockett says unions then spend it on politics. But Denise Specht, president of the Education Minnesota teachers union, warns “it’s pretty clear the corporate interests behind this case are to de-fund and de-fang unions.”
