A Minnesota House committee is in Duluth this afternoon, hearing a funding request for repairs to the historic Glensheen Mansion. Capitol Investment Committee Chairman Dean Urdahl from Grove City says the problem is that it’s not on the U-of-M’s list of top priorities, “So we are encouraging that other entities also become involved: the City of Duluth, St. Louis County, the Historical Society.”
The Duluth Seaway Port Authority is asking for six million dollars to renovate a deteriorating sea wall in the harbor. There are also requests from the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Duluth Depot and other entities.
