Before going home for Mother’s Day, Democrats in the Minnesota House passed a resolution asking Congress to re-open the possibility of an Equal Rights Amendment to the U-S Constitution. Saint Paul Democrat Rena Moran says, “It is so important for women, but I believe it’s important for men. I believe it’s definitely important for our daughters and those who are gonna come after us, to see that we are of equal value.”
In March the Minnesota House voted to put an Equal Rights Amendment to the *Minnesota* Constitution on the ballot next year. But the measure faces stiff opposition in the Republican-controlled Senate — where some warn it could be used to promote abortion, plus allow transgender males to compete on girls’ and women’s sports teams.
