Housing assistance… broadband expansion… more testing and vaccination in long-term care facilities… more help for students who are distance-learning — among top priorities Minnesota House Democrats have for the 2021 legislative session. Senate Republicans contend the only solution is to get *all* Minnesota students back in the classroom right away. Democratic Representative Jim Davnie responds, “We want to see every kid back in school, face-to-face, safely. And it’s the ‘safe’ part that we need to focus on.”
Davnie says teachers and other school staff must have priority for COVID vaccinations. But he says even after that happens, the pandemic will determine how soon all students can be back in the classroom.
