Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL-St. Paul)
Prescription drug companies would have to publicly report total costs of manufacturing drugs, including marketing, under a plan Minnesota House Democrats are proposing to reduce health care costs. Deputy Minority Leader Erin Murphy says now is the time for the next step in common-sense reforms, based on what they’re hearing from the people of Minnesota. Democrats also want to prohibit “surprise bills” to patients from out-of-network medical providers, and want to fund additional audits to target waste. Minnesota Jobs Coalition President Kevin Magnuson says Minnesotans are still paying the price from the last time Democrats promised to reduce health care costs.
