Minnesota House Republican leaders are in Maple Plain this morning, continuing to push for a bonding bill with 700 million dollars for road and bridge projects, after their bonding package died in the closing minutes of the legislative session. House *Democratic* leader Paul Thissen (TEE-sen) responds lawmakers should very much consider a special session but, “It seems a bit rich from the Republicans, who waited ’til five days before the end of session to even offer a bonding bill after ten weeks of the session had elapsed, to now all of a sudden have God’s urgency to pass a bonding bill in the next day.” Governor Mark Dayton said it’s “disappointing to say the least” that the legislature did not pass a bonding bill or a transportation package, but the governor was noncommittal whether he’ll call lawmakers back for a special session.
