The Republican-controlled Minnesota House has passed a tax cut bill that Governor Mark Dayton says he’ll veto. Dilworth Democrat Paul Marquart says with tax cuts as large as Republicans propose, “you can’t do all the other things that this state has been built on: great education, excellent infrastructure, caring for our most vulnerable.” Mazeppa Republican Steve Drazkowski responds the bill is a first step to giving back overcollected taxes “to the hard-working Minnesotans trying to feed their families, to put gas in their car, to pay for their college education for their kids, to pay the mortgage on their house, to pay their health insurance.” The bill awaits a vote in the Senate and then goes to the governor
